I'm just a user not an expert on BrailleNotes, but ...
If the pages you would need to use are similar in security to banking sites,
meaning they have an address starting with https, then I believe they should
work just fine. Secure sites just require 128 bit encription and keyweb
obviously supports that. I have used my BrailleNote to do online banking with
wells Fargo, and it worked great. Now using wireless might be something they
don't approve of, but that is not a BrailleNote issue, because either they let
everyone use wireless, or they don't let anyone use it, and you would need to
use what ever connection method is used by others. It's not that Wireless
isn't often very secure, but rather that some organizations don't like it
because it can be slightly less secure in their minds, then a wired connection
can be.

Of course you are correct that a BrailleNote being a special kind of device,
should be way more secure than a normal computer would be. We all know how
secure Microsoft software is. <grin>

Subject: [Braillenote] ACCESSING SECURED SITES WITH THE BRAILLENOTE: IS
THISPOSSIBLE??

  Hello Everyone:

Perhaps Jonathan, Dean, or any other member of the family can answer this
  one.

Is it possible, perhaps with the Classic BrailleNote or the MPower to access
  secured sites?

Amongst other things, I provide BILLING AGENT services for a number of
medical facilities. To submit their claims for processing by insurance, I
am required to ensure that the information I transmit is known ONLY TO ME
under the Health Insurance Portability & Accounting Act, commonly called
  (HIPAA).

I'd like to be able to SUBMIT THE SAID CLAIMS using the BrailleNote because,
for me, it will be FAR MORE SECURED than a regular computer would be.

I won't deploy the use of the BrailleNote until I upgrade to Version 7 of
Keysoft and take advantage of wireless networking and such, but I just
thought I should ask here first for advice on the subject.

Thanks a trillion for all help!!

  Sincerely,
  Olusegun
