Sorry to bother you with this question, but you might actually know the answer
instead of only giving me a guess. :-)
When I tried to sync my planner entries and contacts between my BrailleNote
running version 6.2 and Microsoft Outlook I got an error message saying, "An
exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation." That is what my
BrailleNote said. My computer had a somewhat longer error message in the
keysync log, but I was unable to read it all do to some JAWS misbehavior.
Someone in tech support said that the cause of the problem is likely to be my
version of Microsoft Outlook, which came with Office 97. Do you know for sure
if that version does not work? It worked fine with my Nokia 6620 cell phone.
There were entries from my phone in Outlook already. I hope they could not
cause the problem, but I did not test syncing with my BrailleNote before
syncing with the cell phone, since no entries were present in the BrailleNote
or Outlook before that. I used to use a custom made database, but decided I
would no longer do that once I thought syncing would be possible.
I intend to try the new version of keysync when I get my upgrade to keysoft 7,
but I don't suppose the problem will go away.

Syncing with Office 2003 on someone else's computer worked fine, but that was
with a fresh contacts list in Outlook, and of course the newer version of
office. I just want to make sure that buying a new version of Office really
would solve the problem, because it isn't a cheap solution.

  Hi Dean and Sue,

Wouldn't it work if you ran an old version of KeySync (presuambly
installed into Program Files\Pulsedata) and a new one, which by default
installs into Program Files\HumanWare, and then run the old one for the
5.1 and the new one for 7.0 syncing? I can't think of a reason why that
wouldn't work (except it might be very confusing!)

Anyway, if you're just transferring files activeSync is all you need so it
  shouldn't be an issue.

I think sometimes people might get the idea we change things just for the
fun of it, so here's the reason:
When I came to do the French localization, it wouldn't accept non-ASCII
characters (such as 'é') within an XML tag. Which is where the names,
etc. used to get put. So it changed from, for example,
  <name data="François">
  to
  <data>name</data><value>François</value>

which is a nicer and more flexible way of doing it anyway.

  regards,
  Andy.

  Hello Sue,

This isn't technically possible, unless you're prepared to keep swapping
versions of KeySync. Again, this is the result of some improvements we
  have
had to make to the KeySync application for the sake of reliability,
stability and adding extra language support.
