Pam,

All the operating system/Keysoft is in Read Only Memory or ROM. When you do
an upgrade, just as we've all been doing with KS7 recently, we're actually
burning a new image of the Keysoft application onto permanent storage. The
Windows CE operating system uses directories on the KS Disk, as does Keysoft
itself, but your actual user data is normally located on the Flashdisk.
However, I openly admit that I do use my system disk for data, not in line
with HW's recommendation, but only for data which I'm simply reading
temporarily and for which I have no care if I lose it! I do keep all worked
on items such as documents, databases and address list on either the
Flashdisk or CompactFlash card, but you're right, there's loads of space you
can use on the system disk so long as you realise that it can be lost if the
battery goes flat, or you've had to do one of the major resets. As long as
you bear that in mind and don't actually touch the existing directories
which the system uses, you can freely use the disk.

Paul.
