Hi Barb,

If memory serves, it took my mPower closer to three hours before it started
discharging the battery. And, the r command in the support information mode
is the one to recalibrate. So, I would try again, give it a good three
hours to start the discharge. And, who knows as to how long it takes for
the discharge and recharge. Mine takes around eight hours for the
discharge, and then maybe another three to charge back up, but others have
talked about having much longer discharge cycles.

Subject: [Braillenote] Problem with recalibrating battery

Hi Listers:

I'm having a strange problem recalibrating my mPower battery and wanted to
know if anyone has encountered this problem. Because of a weird problem
with my battery, BN tech Support recommended I do a manual battery
recalibration, which according to the on-line manual, is command R in the
support Center. I got my battery drained down to 805 and went into the
support center and gave the R command. It displayed the message:
Battery recalibration. I am draining my battery. Initial charge
Two hours later, the message had not changed. I know from experience it
should take less than an h our for the battery to become fully charged to
100%. The A command says the battery gauge is accurate but I am told this
shis won't prevent the battery from being recalibrated. I did turn speech
on before giving the R command. when I quit after 2 hours, the battery
gauge was 100%.

any idea why the battery didn't go on to the discharge process? Or does
this mean my mPower is "broken?"

thanks for any feedback on this. I receive the digest format of the
mailing list so if you respond to this message, please also send a CC to
me.

thanks,
Barb
