This is Joseph. In December 28, n1998 revision Blazie
Engineering introduced what is called PC edit mode.
This mode allows you to simulate PC-style editing by
using three modes, namely insert, overwrite, and
append. Append is the default mode. This is different
issue from BrailleNote. In BrailleNote you can insert
text from anywhere in the document and append the text
when you are at the bottom of the document. The only
feature missing is continuous overwrite. So on
BrailleNote it is like using a word processing program
on a computer. On BNS family of notetakers insert mode
does the same thing. I hope this information may help
you.
