Ann, unless I'm misunderstanding you, if your card is in the back, it's a compact flash card. If it's in the side, it's a storage card. When you install the upgrade, the card needs to be in the back. If I read the instructions correctly, it has to be done by way of the pc. Have fun with the upgrade.
