Hi. I spoke with an electrical engineer, and was told that the battery
will likely drain faster with speech going thru the speaker, rather than
headphones. There is likely a stage of amplification beyond where the
headphone connection is, and this would, of course, use
power. Surprisingly, I was told that the speech volume had little to do
with battery drain. So, apparently, it's ok to turn the "talking until
battery goes flat" message way down.
