On this point, may I clarify, please:

It looks, from what Steve says, that the mPower uses only 3.3 volts
whilst the older units used 5? Is this correct, or perhaps the other
way round, and what about the PK?

Steve, if you haven't got a computer and can't get items from that card
then I'll be glad to give it a shot if you write me personally.

Hi, the card is an IBM 1gb Microdrive which fits into a PCMCIA card
adaptor and goes into the right hand side slot. I've tried all the
remedies suggested on this list to no avail. I get the message "card not
recognized". I've also tried using it without the adaptor in the slot at
the back, it does fit, but again the message "card not recognized" is
displaned. I've tried inserting the card both with and without the
machine switched on. I'm on benefits and it's been hard to save up for
the Mpower. Although Humanware is supporting the other older machinery
at present, it can only be a matter of time before these come redundant
(please don't take this the wrong way, just my thoughts), so I try to
upgrade when I can.

as I'm sure I'm not the only person with this problem, hopefully
Humanware will produce a software upgrade so that I can use 5 volts
rather than 3.3 because otherwise I'm going to have a redundant disk
that I can't afford to replace and theI look forward to any more
suggestions but, I think Dean is correct, the switch from 5 to 3.3 volts
is the problem with my card and I only wish a software upgrade could
remedy that problem and I could have 5 velts again but in the Mpower
rather than the 3.3 which clearly doesn't work, otherwise I have a
redundant disk I can't afford so replace and don't have the equipment to
do anything about the 77 folders and over 2000 files I have on the disk
I can't do anything about.

Cheers, Steve
