But, would it not be much faster if it worked just like it should, and
activated the link.  Fewer steps and it would make sense from the user
standpoint if not the programming one.

this is already possible indo just select the text, copy it to 
the clipboard use block commands and then paste it in the address 
field.  The BT command and backspce with V.  Could someone add 
the QT command here incase someone neeeds it since I don't know 
it.
