Hello,

This is Jo. I understand that you would want the numbers taken out, but I also understand that you would need the verses in case you were asked to read something. However, I feel that you shouldn't have to hear the page numbers read. For instance, I was reading a chapter in one of the books, and right in the middle of it was the book name, and what the particular section it was reading, plus the page numbers. So what I do is take the references out, and page numbers. That way, I don't have to hear that. I also keep a copy of the original, so that way I don't mess up anything. You might think of trying that Stacey and see what you think. Well, I'll go now. Take care, and have a good day.

    Sincerely,

    Jolena Foster

Hi Terri,
I understand this, but I'm trying to figure out a way to make the speech read more smoothly without the numbers braking the flow of the text. I keep backups of everything so would never want to alter an only copy or anything like that.

Dear Stacey,

Verse numbers are a part of the text so you can't just "turn them
off." If
someone wanted you to read a specific book, chapter and verse,
you would
need the verse numbers to find the specific verse.

The same thing is true if you were reading a textbook and the
teacher told
you to go to chapter 3 page 36 second paragraph. That's why both
print and
braille page numbers are included in braille textbooks.

Subject: [Braillenote] Question about bibles

: Hi all,
: I have a bible that I use with my vnqt. (Thanks Terri P). The
: chapters have headings which I'd like to keep in tact. What
I'd
: like to do is erase the verse numbers so it will read without
: reading the numbers. Don't worry, I'm not going to do this
: without keeping a copy with all numbers in tact. I'm just
trying
: to figure out a way to make the verse numbers not be read.
: Maybe in a future version of keysoft there could be some kind
of
: feature that would for example turn off page and line numbers.
: They would still be in your document, but ks just wouldn't read
: them if you chose to turn this on.
: What do others think especially those who are just using speech
: or who like to read with just speech?
: Thanks for any suggestions.
