Thanks Jonathan.  Pretty much as I suspected.  It seems to be wuite useful for 
some people but then again they are obviously bathed in radio waves and 
probably won't live as long as me si there. Smile.

Hi all, the FM radio is a tiny chip on the BrailleNote and VoiceNote 
mPower motherboard. It's the same kind of technology you see on some cell 
phones these days. I now don't take my Sangean radio with me when I 
travel, and most of the time I can hear the local NPR outlet, or BBC Radio 
4, or National Radio, depending on where I am in the world. However, it's 
nowhere near as powerful as you would find even in a simple portable 
radio, so in weak signal areas it may not be sufficient. It was an 
extremely low cost addition for us to provide, and it does have a lot of 
use, but it's not a replacement in every situation for your radio. Hope
