My unit went in today for a transplant. It is critical that I should
be able to use BlueTooth productively and without fuss.
Could I please have some feedback as to how many of you are
experiencing problems using BlueTooth? ... Having followed all
instructions obviously!
Thanks

I thought I would feed back on this as one of the few things I am
completely happy with about the mPower VoiceNote is the shape and
feel of the device. It has a really solod and robust feel about it.
The Keybpard is comfortable to use and the ports are all easy to get
at and connect to.
The carry case is also top notch although with all the bits and bbs
I carry around with it, I need an exttra bag. Is there a purpose
for the velcro strips on the tio and sides? Are there additional
pockets I can add or is this just a tactice q?
Anyway, great d4esign on the hardware. Because I am not a brailler,
smaller would not help me as I would need a qwerty keyborad anyway.
The battery life isgreat if you just used the stripped unt but when
the use it as it is meant to be used in ither words as an mPower,
its battery life is far too short. I am not sure what can be dine
about that besides have replacable battery pods as I have suggested
previously. I work around this as I imagone most others do by
keeping th charger on hand at all times.
I have managed to get ActiveSync connectivity going with my work PC
although I I actually don't use ot much yet, preferng to just copy
files into a compact flash card or my portable external hard
drive. That works well for me and it is great that we have so many
options for getting files on and off the devoce.
I have used the wireless connectivity at work and after sone
teething problems got it working. There problem there is more with
me being not yet used to using the web entirely by audio. I would
like to be able to open html files on the devoce itself which does
not seem to be possible as it is with internet explorer or any other
web browser I have used. Having a home page as a local file on my
PC gets me around a lot of the accessibility problems on a lot of
web sites that I visit regularly.
Bluetooth does not seem to work at all and I get the impression that
nobody else is having any luck either. That is a shame as this was
a bog selling point for me but I have abandoned that for now.
Infra red I have not yet tried. Imight look into that of bluetooth
continues to be a disaster so I can print more easily.
I have mentioned before that I have issues with the design of the
software interface. The application centred approach does not come
naturally to me although I am becoming accustomed to it. I would
still prefere the document centred approach that sighted users enjoy.
The applications themselves work fine although the keybase
application is disapointingly limited.
Havign an extra voice was a good step but I would like to see an
easier to listen to voice like double talk for listening to long
documents like novels.
It would be noce of the volume went a bit higher for when I am on
noisy environments or when I have the unit playing music through the
speaker although I have used a portable external speaker from TDK
with some success there.
Any way thats all from me for now. Back to what I get paid for.
