Angie,
You said that you were told you had a BrailleNote classic, but you wrote about
the record button in a different post. Either that or there are two people
named Angie and I am just confused, which is of course perfectly possible.
<smile> If your Braille Note has a record button than it is an MPower.

Were you also the one asking about the alarms for the calendar? If the
appointments arrive on your BrailleNote by being synced from Outlook, then I
doubt you can sync, but have the alarms turned off. What you might want to do
is turn the alarm volume way way down, so they don't startle anyone. You can
find the option for doing this in the set up options for the planner. Just go
down the list of options after the menu item for opening the planner. If I
remember correctly, space with T will give you a test alarm to see how loud it
is. The default setting could practically wake the dead, so setting it very
low is a good idea. The braille note should really have an option to display a
message when there is an appointment instead of using an alarm because only a
message would be usable by someone deaf, and would be of benefit to people in
meetings and other places were noise is not acceptable. Looking at the
appointments all the time is a nusence, and if you have no sense of time like
me, you won't look when you need to anyway.

I got my note taker about 14 months ago so I guess I just missed the M
Power. That's okay. The Classic works well for me.
If the M Power is the new and standard machine now does that mean people with
Classics are supposed to upgrade? Will they continue to support the Classic?
  Angie.
