Hi Graham,

The manuals are supposed to come back - they're stored in non-volatile
memory and loaded onto the system disk if KeySoft decides the folder is
missing. So you should be able to delete the folder Manuals (in the top
level directory of the system disk), do a reset and they should reappear.
In fact, a lot of the important stuff on the unit is stored in
non-volatile memory and should reappear if deleted.

Now I think about it, there is an alternative: the files that unpack into
the manuals folder are stored in \Windows and have names like EN_bnb.exe.
I think you had a VNQT? so you could go to the Utilities menu, press A to
run application program, and then go into the Windows folder and type
EN_vnq.exe, follow the instructions but don't press reset when it asks you
to - just press enter. That should also restore your manuals.

(By the way, I did my degree at Warwick a few years ago now.)

Ray, good luck with KeySync and your firewall - it does use a
socket-based communication so it could be blocked by anti-virus software.
Let us know how you get on.

regards,,

Andy.
