Hi daveed, you can record onto any storage device connected to the
BrailleNote mPower. So if you have an 80 GB hard drive, you can record
directly on to that. We're currently investigating improving the recording
functionality, however it won't make it into the next release as it's all
quite preliminary at this stage.

RE: [Braillenote] Suggestion for a future update

Speaking of recording, must one always record to main memory? I know one
can save recordings to a compactflash card, for example, but can one
record
to the flashcard to get a longere recording?
Thanks.

Jonathan: I was thinkingthe other day what a great tool the MPower could
be for broadcasters, if you added a few more facilities, such as being able

to mark particular passages while recording, as you can do on a minidisc
recorder. It would also be great if one could stop recording in a
particular file, and continue recording later in that file; also a
punch-in
record facility would be great, too. I realize the media center is an
adjunct to a unit that mainly deals with braille, but one an dream, right?
