Scannar'r procedure.

One can connect the braille note, any model, to the Scannar'r either before or after reading documents. The serial cable is plugged into the serial port, and assuming you have decided to keep copy of the last document you go into the utility menu and space down to active sinc and press enter. The scannar will say `Mobile connected` You then press the menu button on scanner which takes it from the text to the menu facility, and pressing another button to save document of which you can name by speaking name to the scanner and it repeats what ever you say at the appropriate time it asks `do you want to save the file to the braille note` push appropriate button and then you hear a `burp` and you have it in your braille note. It goes into the Reader folder on bn and can be read immediately and or it can be put into Keywordl It is a breeze If I can do it, anyone can!

Alex,
If you contact your nearest Humanware office, they should be
able to tell you about the SCANNAR'R or also known as THE POET
and it works with the classic and also the m'power using the
serial port etc. I have had my SCANNAR'R for about three years
and have had no trouble with it.

Sylvia.

You mean to say that BrailleNote has a way to import documents
from a scanner? What brand(s) does it work with? I've tried a
Lexmark and another type (I don't remember what brand) and both
times I have gotten: "card not recognised".

Thanks for any help,
Alex
