Hello List,
The other day, some people were posting e-mails about printing
and embossing their database records.
I have been working on this, and I had a little help today from
Ssarai at tech support.
The easiest way for this to happen, is that you must create a
template for your database that you have created or are using
from the default list supplied from ks 7.
This is a tedious process if you have lots of databases like
myself, but once you get the hang of it the process doesn't take
very long.
In order to create your template do the following:
1. from the main menu, press w for keyword,
2. press c for create a document
3. if you are going to emboss you will need to create a braille
document, and vise versa if you are going to print, you will need
to create a text document.
4. If you are using a braille keyboard, and you want to create a
braille document, the default is braille, so all you need to do
is give the document a name, such as (briefcase template)
5. Now that you have the document created, and you are at the
top of the document, press backspace with i and you will he
field to insert so find the first field that you would want and
press enter,
6. continue doing this until all of the fields that are in the
database are in this new document, and when you have all of them,
press space with e. .
7. You are now ready to emboss the database. press d for
database, and choose the briefcase and it will say template to
use, press enter on briefcase template and it will say records to
emboss press enter for all records, or choose the record you want
and when you are ready, press enter and it will be embossing.
This may seem like a lot of work, and yes in some regards it is,
but once you do it, it will seem easy.
I have created a template for a couple of my databases, and they
every embossing perfectly.
If anyone has further questions about this, feel free to write me
privately.
Robert
