Hi. Yes with the Mpower both things are perfectly possible. British Maths signs are fully supported and with the file and folder manager you have a good deal of flexibility.
I am from the UK and have used both Mpower and the BrailleLite and although in it's time the BrailleLite was great the flexibility which the Mpower offers puts it in a completely different league in all sorts of respects.
