Ray, Does your fiancee have GPRS service on the phone's plan? This is a
service that allows the phone to send and receive data from the internet, and
it's necessary to have it in order to use the phone as a modem. I didn't' want
to worry about running out of megabytes, so I had Cingular sign me up with an
unlimited GPRS package for $20 extra a month. It's worth it! I can send and
receive mail and surf the web with my BN and cell phone anywhere, without
having to be tied to anything or connected to an internet hotspot. If you have
any questions about this, feel free to write me off-list at

and I'll do my best to help you get set up. I also saw your message regarding
the problem with sbcglobal, but since I have Earthlink, I don't know if I can
help you. My only suggestion would be to go through your settings in whatever
program your fiancee has been using, such as Outlook Express, Outlook, or
Eudora, and make sure the settings on the BN match exactly. I've learned never
to mention the word "BrailleNote" to my ISP's tech support, it makes them jump
to all sorts of incorrect conclusions. Your best bet would be to tell them
you're trying to set up an account on Outlook Express, so you get the correct
pop3 and smtp information. I know there are SbcGlobal customers on this list,
so I'm confident one of them will chime in with some assistance.

Regards,

Sarah

Subject: [Braillenote] Nokia 6620 Bluetooth connection?

Hello,

my fiancé received her M Power on Friday and we have been spending this weekend
trying to figure out how to connect to the Internet and check her email via
bluetooth using her Nokia 6620 Cell phone. She is running version 6.2 and has
Cingulair as her Cell Phone provider and SBC as her Internet provider. Is the
Cell phone used strictly as a modem? I'm assuming that by using the cell phone
to connect you only have to pay for regular talk minutes. Is this correct?

Any help and/or advice in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
Kindest Regards,

Ray
