Well when I ran the R in support mode on the 18-cell it did not reset the
recycle count either.

Hmmm, it's my understanding that with the mPower, running the battery 
flat automatically recalibrates it.  But like you, even though I've 
run mine flat, I'm at something like 50.  I think it did go back to 1 
when I manually recalibrated it with the R off the support 
mode.  Maybe that's the only way to make it go back to one, even 
though it recalibrates when run flat?  Comments, Humanware?
