No. I use a pc, but when traveling, use my Mpower. However, some folks just have difficulty using a pc. Others like myself, want the refreshable braille. The brailliant wasn't around when I bought my first bn classic. I suppose I might buy a laptop and a brailliant, but they don't get the battery life of the bn and the bn is smaller and more portable.

Also, as was stated in another message, a PC doesn't necessarily come with a Braille display unless purchased separately. I bought my BN strictly because of its Braille display. If I hadn't been interested in the Braille output, I would have purchased a laptop. But I wanted the ability to perform tasks without speech or ear buds while listening with the other ear. Since I comprehend better by reading I also choose Braille. For me, I wanted Braille. It's all well and good for people to say things would work better if done on a PC, but that simply doesn't help those who, for whatever reason, don't have one. Most people on this list already have a BN, so to say that a PC would have been the better choice is just not realistic. To tell a person they should have striven to get a PC instead of their hard-earned BN or VN is, in my not-so-humble opinion, a bit of a slap in the face. Besides, PC's don't come with Braille displays, and BN's do. This is probably the number one reason why most of us have a BN, along with the intuitive interface and the portability. Just some more thoughts from under the rock of the peanut gallery, I'll go away now! -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of bob mates Sent: Tuesday, March 14, 2006 2:15 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Braillenote] Recent comments Hi, folks: I've read some recent comments on this list, which seem to imply that anyone who strictly use a BN, and not a PC, is foolish. Well, I don't mean to be rude, but I think those comments are insensitive and elitist. I'm sorry, but not everyone, for various reasons, has a lot of adaptive equipment. We usually get one or two shots at the brass ring in a lifetime. Many of us have chosen the BN, because of its portability, and because of its functionality. To us, it's more than just aa neat little tool; it's everything. People who seem to say that we're wrong to expect a lot out of it are wrong and mis-informed. The fact is, we know exactly what to expect, and Humanware agrees with our high expectations. That's why they came out with the M-power. Those of you who have a number of pieces of equipment should thank God you have them, and not look down your noses at those of us who don't. By the way, this absolutely does not apply to most on this list; just a couple. Comments like the ones I read earlier make me want to unsubscribe. But, I won't. We're all in the same boat on this list, and we shouldn't even imply that folks who don't have as much equipment are somehow inferior. If I'm over-reacting, I'm sorry. God bless.
