Jose,

You will first need a cable to connect your phone to the BN's serial port.
Tell me exactly what model cell phone you have and I will track down the cable.
 They are not cheap cables, but it's nice to be able to do this.

You will need to set up the connection in Keymail setup options. It's been
quite a while since I did this under 5.1, so if anything doesn't make sense,
let me know.

Select KeyMail from the main menu. KeySoft displays "KeyMail Menu." Select
Set Up Options from the KeyMail menu. KeySoft displays "KeyMail Set Up Menu."
Select Directory of Services.
KeySoft displays "Directory of Services Menu." Select Look Up A Service.
KeySoft displays "Entry List for Directory of Services."
        The second item enables you to choose which modem you want to use for
this service. The built-in modem is the PC Tel Soft Modem. You could also use
an external modem connected to the serial port. This is described as "Hayes
compatible on COM1." This is the choice you want to use with a cell phone.
Press SPACE with dots 3-4 to step through the list of available options. Press
ENTER to make your choice of modem.
"Wait for dial tone" is normally set to 'Yes.' Set to 'No' if BrailleNote
reports that it can't detect carrier. This is how you want to set this when
using a cell phone.
Press SPACE with dots 2-6 to save the changes, and press y when asked to
confirm.

HTH,

Sarah

Subject: [Braillenote] BrailleNote Using the infrared port with the
Cellphone

Hello; Listers, I have a question. I understand that you could use the
internet on the cellphone using the BrailleNote. My question is How do I
connect it? Do I use the braille terminal or the visual display and where do I
have to be on the BrailleNote To do this? Please write back.
