This is Joseph. The correct procedure is as follows: For all models: 1. Install the product key. Go to www.braillenote.com, click on BrailleNote downloads link, and follow the link that says, "SDW download site." Type in your serial number, then at the password field, type frog1. At the next page, make sure that the 7.0 key is checked and click on the download button. After the download is complete, install it using Utilities/Application program option.
For Classic models: 2. Install the upgrade: After you have installed the key, insert the CF card that contains the upgrade (nk.bin). BraileNote should recognize it. Go to Main Menu, and hold down dots 4-5 and press reset. Continue to hold down dots 4-5 until you hear a sound. The upgrade has started. After about 25-30 minutes, the upgrade will complete and KeySoft will restart. 3. Verifying the version: When KeySoft restarts, it should announce the new version. To verify it, at the Main Menu and select Information item. Navigate through the items until you see, "KeySoft CE version 7.0. Build: (number)." You have successfully installed KeySoft 7.0. For mPower models: 2. Installing the software: After you have installed the product key, go to Main Menu, and hold down dots 4-6 and press reset. Hold down dots 4-6 until you hear chime. At this point, press dots 1-2 (letter B on QT). After you hear another chime, press reset with dots 4-5. After about 15-20 minuts, the upgrade will be completed. 3. Verifying the version: same as Classic models. For PK models: 2. Installing the software: After you have installed the product key, go to Utilities/Application program. Make sure that the CF card is inserted. Select the .ext file from the root of the CF card (none directory). Press enter twice. The upgrade starts. After about 15-20 minutes, the upgrade will complete. 3. Verifying the version: same as Classic models. Note: in QT, dots 4-5 is letters J and K. For dots 4-6, the keystroke is letters J and L.
