For Terry Powers

You've got some things confused. I never answered your question, and the information was for Terry Klasper on a different issue.

Active Sync and a connection has nothing to do with file management using storage cards.

Hi Sarah C;
Jean was answering my question, but telling me how to do it by way of active sink. I was just letting her know I needed a review, you might say, for how to do the item I mentioned by using the cf card. I have never used and hopefully never will use active sink. I am trying to get rid of all my 5.1 files, back ups, and down load the Curnel books from NFB. I am thinking of getting another card just for books since I only have two anyway. Then use the other card for back ups and have my bible on the third card. If anything is lost, It will not be everything.

Terry:

Just to let you know, this doesn't have anything to do with ActiveSync. When you take your CF card out of the card reader and put it in your BN, it will show up as a regular BN drive, which you can see from the file manager or any other application in Keysoft.

Jean;
I was using a computer to a cf card by way of a card reader. Then put the card in the now MPower. I just got it to work twice and now I have forgotten how I did it.

Terry

These are the very clear instructions that Don Bishop posted some time back
about connecting the mPower to the Internet via Active Sync. I can only
assume it works the same with the PK. I was amazed it worked so well. Hope
this helps.

Actually, connecting to the net using usb and activesync is so simple that
it is almost confusing.

First of all, get connected to the pc using activesync over the usb
connection and establish a partnership if you haven't already.

Now, for the part you were actually asking about. Create a connectivity
configuration and when asked for the device to use, select ethernet. (I
know you
aren't going to use ethernet and don't have a card, but trust me!)

If you don't need dns addresses or use a proxy server you can let the rest
of the options default.

Save the configuration and go back to the main menu.

Now, go to the internet and select or enter a site name and hit enter.
You'll be asked which connection you want to use and select the ethernet
connection
you just created and press enter. The web page should come up and you'll be
on your way.

This same procedure works for email.

I just tried it here and it does work with keysoft 7 and the MPower.

All.
I need some fairly urgent help.

Essentially the hotel I am staying in doesn't have wireless access and
when
I try to connect a PK via a LAN card I get an error which may well relate
to
the fact that the IP knows I already have my PC registered for the
service.
So what I want to do is to share my PC's internet connection with the PK
via
Active sync.
I can either do this via USB cable or BlueTooth it really doesn't matter.
I've never had to do this before and although have tried some fairly
simple
steps to get it working it's not having any.
The urgency is that I need my wife who's PK it is to be able to check her
mail urgently as we are from the UK now in LA and are dealing with an
eight
hour backward timeshift meaning that in few hours it's the morning in the
UK
and she will need urgent access to her messages.
Any help as ever gratefully received.

Cheers!
