I agree with you Terry. Although there have been times where my
requests for new things has been overlooked, such as introducing Braille
Music software so that one can do music composition on the BN or simple
theory exercises, most times, if there are enough consumers who desire
something, especially something as important as TTY, HumanWare will come
to the party. It is a shame that the deaf-blind users have not been
listened to for so long but hopefully, with the competition facing them
and enough of us speaking out for it, TTY will become a function for the
BN. I hope it will happen soon.

Cheers!

Michele

I think one of the great things about HumanWare is that whilst of course
the most driving force has to be the business commercial perspective
they are unlike most other companies in this industry good at marrying
the commercials and consumer disirables.

Well, all I can say is competition in the marketplace might be the best
thing. If other manufacturerers are moving forward and offering better
access tools, then any company worth its salt will hopefully pick up the
ball and work to catch up.

Up until fairly recently, the BN was the only real braille-based
productivity tool we had. Now there is competition, and it will
hopefully force all the companies to take a serious look at what they
are doing and the direction they want to go with their products. If
we're honest, the BN family is behind in a lot of areas, but then it
also has some great things to offer. Humanware has to keep pace with
the competition, and it's that competition that will drive more
decisions rather than individual requests from users. No company wants
to lose face or market share.

This is just my opinion on the whole blindness market for access
technology.

Some might think me cynical, but I think Humanware will listen more to
what the competition is doing and offering, and will hopefully respond
accordingly.
