Yes, I do occasionally experience that same problem at times with my ambicom card. I have also had the card not recognized message with PC cards in the side slot. I've also had cards not work and then spontaniously work when I inserted them again.
Everyone makes it sound like you can choose which slot to put your compact flash cards in, which I guess you can if you have an adaptor for the PCMCIA slot, but I wonder how many people get confused by the lack of clarity about this. I wish I had an adaptor just to see if some things worked better in another slot, but I am not likely to buy one when I might find no advantage to having it. <smile> Sarah Van Oosterwijck Assistive Technology Trainer http://home.earthlink.net/~netentity ----- Original Message ----- From: Ray Campbell To: Braille Note Discussion List Sent: Wednesday, March 22, 2006 7:03 PM Subject: [Braillenote] Wireless Card Problem Hi. I'm having an intermittent problem with my Ambicom Wireless card. What will happen is that I can put my card in, send e-mail or go onto the web, or whatever. Then, I take the card out and use the Braille Note for a while. When I put the card back in, the Braille Note doesn't say "network card ready." The unit won't do anything, and I have to take the card out and do a reset with no keys held down, then I can put the card in and use it. I'm running Keysoft 7.0 on an mPower transplant BT model. Has anyone else had a problem like this and if so, is there a solution for it? At this point, I haven't tried any other wireless cards, don't want to invest in a new one for such an intermittent problem.
