I haven't noticed my SD card being particularly slower than a CF card of the
same size. I wonder if another card would work better?

Yes, so is mine. However, seeing as I only use it for backups and upgrades,
guess I'm not too worried, but it sure is much slower than my CF card. I
got it somewhere on sale so am not really complaining. It is a 128MB
SanDisk card.

My SD card is encredibly slow. I think most flash cards are faster, but I
don't have cards to use for comparison. there is a good chance that i just
bought a cheap slow SD card. I didn't research it before buying because at
the moment it didn't matter. Now I don't use the card unless I have to,
because every other method of saving files takes an amount of time I have
more patients for. <smile>
