This suggestion is spot on. The problem only becomes apparent when speech is
used, because it's a product of the on-the-fly back-translation that takes
place when the BN/VN is asked to read a Braille file aloud. For the record,
Duxbury back-translates Grimm incorrectly, as well.

Hi Terry,

Yes, this one would drive me mad also! Never mind, you can make
use of the pronunciation dictionary to sort it!

>From the Main Menu, press Ufor the Utilities Menu, followed by
the letter Pfor the Pronunciation Dictionary. There you have
three options to choose from, one of which is add word to
dictionary. This is the one you want. When you hear the first
prompt, you need to write in the word Grimmediateand press dot 8
(enter). For the next response, type in the proper word G R I M
M. (The spaces I have used are just to emphasize the word.)

Next time you listen to this word, it should read correctly.

Carol

>Hello. My name is Terry and i have a quick question. I am
reading a book that i downloaded from bookshare. The book is
about the Fantastic four. One of the characters in the book is
named Ben Grimm. His last name is spelled g r i m m. As you
know the i m m in braille stands for immediate, so, the braille
note is pronouncing the last name as grimmediate. This is
disturbing to me. Any help to clear up this problem would be
appreciated. Thanks.
