Hello Richard, Rusty and others: If a list of items, in this case wireless cards, needs to be sent to the list, you would just paste it into the body of an email. I do allow, in extremely special circumstances, attachments to be sent to the list and I may be about to do that within the next couple of days as a matter of fact. This is usually in order to distribute updates, work arounds or BraileNote applications (if this is a requirement of most of the list) and only if they are small in size. However, if there is information contained within the attachment that could otherwise be included in an email, I don't allow it as part of list policy.
Regarding the downloading issue, Jonathan would need to comment on any action we may or may not, be about to undertake regarding this matter. However, I can say that we are looking into this problem and looking to correcting the offending code. Regards, Dean Jackson Humanware Christchurch New Zealand. ----- Original Message ----- From: "richard" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Braillenote List" <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, April 09, 2006 12:53 PM Subject: re: list attachments was Re: [Braillenote] Wirelesscards Hi Dean, What would be the best thing to do then if, for example someone found something that he or she thought would be of interest to the list? For example Robert with his list of wireless cards that work with mPower? Is there a way we could flag it so you would get it and be able decide? on another front, can we maybe get some kind of patch that would help with the multiple download thing? For me, it's just annoying to have to reset after each download, but I'm thinking about people who need to download multiple files for their work or for school. For them, the time aspect of this could be a little more than just annoying. As for the upgrade, which would have a fix for this problem, would this be a major upgrade that we would have to use our smas on, or would it be a free upgrade like the one that had the planner on the old classic? thanks for the help and good luck fixing the problem!!! Richard, still loving his new mPower > ----- Original Message ----- >From: "Dean Jackson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED] >To: "Braillenote List" <[email protected] >Date: Fri, 7 Apr 2006 11:09:48 +1200 >Subject: list attachments was Re: [Braillenote] Wirelesscards >Hi list: >As list administrator, I don't allow most attachments to be sent to the list >for a couple of reasons, one which has already been mentioned, taking into >account the spread of viruses. >The second reason is that many people on this list are on slow connections >and to make being subscribed to the list a more enjoyable experience for >them as well, I have the list software strip attachments and I also limit >the size of the message body, so that large messages are sent to me first, >before being approved. >Regards, >Dean Jackson >BrailleNote Product Specialist >Humanware >11 Mary Muller Drive >Christchurch >new Zealand >DDI: +64 3 940 2265 >Fax: +64-3-384 4933 >Email: >[EMAIL PROTECTED] >Internet: >www.humanware.com >Skype: >pulsedata-support-nz__________________________ >----- Original Message ----- >From: "robert stigile" <[EMAIL PROTECTED] >To: "Braillenote List" <[email protected] >Sent: Friday, April 07, 2006 10:41 AM >Subject: RE: [Braillenote] Wirelesscards >> Hello Richard, >> I have spoken with several computer tech people today, and I have >> received the response that they don't know why a particular >> listserv would not allow attachments. >> Not only did I receive this information, but I have received >> e-mails and sent e-mails in the last few days from several >> listservs I am on, and the attachments have all gone and have >> been read just fine. >> So when I was told that I could not send and receive attachments >> on the braillenote listserv, I was quite surprised. >> REGARDS, >> Robert >>> ----- Original Message ----- >>>From: Richard Turner <[EMAIL PROTECTED] >>>To: Braillenote List <[email protected] >>>Date: Thu, 06 Apr 2006 12:13:21 -0700 >>>Subject: RE: [Braillenote] Wirelesscards >>>Hi Robert and others, >>>I am on several lists and none allow attachments.
