Hi Michele; I got my transplant with a new adapter and I do not see any difference in it. To me, it looks like it is in one piece. Take the chord and put it between the 2 prongs and then wrap it around the with of the adapter. It is easy. I got a small causmetic bag at the dollar store and it holds the chord and ear plugs. One adapter stays at work and the other goes in my book bag with my MPower. I have the adapter from the original unit. Terry Powers

Is the reason for the switch because the think wiring was so fragile and the packs kept breaking, or that the two-piece packs supplied more length, or is it another reason entirely?
