Hi Brian,

I am currently using the Spanish language module with my BrailleNote and believe I can answer one of your questions. The language packs come with spell checkers including a spell checking dictionary for the appropriate language, although I have found the Spanish spellchecker to be somewhat lacking. It contains many of the infinitive verb forms but none of the conjugations, if this makes sense to you. I couldn't say whether this is true for the other languages since I have not had experience using them. Also, each language includes an appropriate speech engine so that the BrailleNote will correctly pronounce words in the respective languages. Keep in mind that, as of now, this only works for Keynote Gold speech and it has not been made public whether this will change in the future. In regards to your other questions, I am unsure as to the answers, although I can say that the Spanish software supports Spanish computer Braille entry. Also, if you choose to enter Spanish characters in a Microsoft Word document and configure your language and Braille display settings correctly, the symbols will show up as Spanish computer Braille. Hope this helps.

Subject: [Braillenote] Multi Lingual Pack Features

Ottawa Canada

I am interested in just what features the Multi Lingual pack for
the Braille Note Empower has.

In particular, say for the French or Spanish languages, do they:

-include a spell check dictionary for that language?

have a forward and back Braille translator?

Regarding the Braille translator, does it provide a choice of
translating into say French Braille in an American or a French
context?

The difference is an American context uses American punctuation
signs and a French or Spanish context uses that country's
punctuation signs.

I thought I would ask here because I haven't been able to find
this information anywhere else.

Brian
