Hello Melissa:
Yes, the .brf files are converted to speech for us non-braille
displayed people. The only thing I don't like about the .brf
files is that since there are so many pages in a Braille
document, you will hear page numbers quite often.

Question
HI Jeff,
Will the voicenote read BRF files? I do not have a Braille
display. Does the
speech recognize the Braille file and read it as text?

Question
Hello Melissa:
I am also a Bookshare member and am addicted to reading books on
the
MPower. The good news is that it's even easier than you think.
The
MPower/keysoft already has the Bookshare unpacking software
built right
into it. So, to download a book, find the title you want on the
Bookshare
site, and click on the .brf format of the book. Unfortunately,
the MPower
doesn't read DAISY format yet, but I'm hoping... Now, go back
to the main
menu and choose "Book reader" and navigate to the directory
(Usually
downloads) where you stored the book. Select it and the MPower
will ask
you for your password, and then where to unpack the book.
Finally, it will
offer to delete the old compressed book for you. How cool
right??
The MPower will then open the book and you can use the usual
book reading
navigating commands to read it.
hth and enjoy!!
Jeff

Subject: [Braillenote] Braillenote] Another bookshare Question
Hello Everyone!
My apologies if this question has already been answered on the
list. I am a
bookshare member and would like to be able to read my bookshare
books on my
voice note. In order to do this, I assume that I need to first
download the
bookshare unpacking software onto my voicenote. How does one do
this? Where
do I go on the bookshare website to download the software?
Thanks.
