I have trouble with the delay Eloquence causes. I was excited to
have the option of using it on my Empower, but in the end
switched back to the standard speech.

Subject: RE: [Braillenote] Eloquence
I used to keep the BN at rate 11 for about 95% of my speech usage
and with
Eloquence I keep it at 12. Eloquence will occasionally crackle
or stutter,
but a plain reset will put it right again. I especially like
Eloquence when
in the internet, because of the different voices for links etc.
I have read
many books using speech on weekends and I can't say which I
really prefer,
Five years with Key soft meant I got really used to it but then I
have used
Jaws and Eloquence even longer so it is have a dozen of one and
six of
another for me.
If the material is of a medical nature, I use Eloquence because I
am so used
to how it says words even when it is not correct.

Subject: [Braillenote] Eloquence
Hello, List:
Yesterday, I made the comment that I didn't like Eloquence
because it was too slow. I had a conversation with Diane Kelker
about this subject. She encouraged me to try to use Eloquence
all day, and discuss my findings.
All of you may think I need the loony bin, but this is what I
have found. After using this machine all day, I believe
Eloquence has artificial intelligence. It can now speak as fast
as I write. I now enjoy using it.
