You are correct. This feature is only good for keyword documents. You can
define markers while in your document but you will lose them once you exit
an MS Word document.

Subject: [Braillenote] Microsoft Office Word document and place markers
inKeySoft.
Hi listers from Lebanon!
At the very beginning of this mail, please allow me to wish you all a
Happy Easter.
I'm using KeySoft version 5.1 build 19 on my VoiceNote. I've some word
documents that I'm reading at the moment using my VoiceNote. While
reading one of the files, I defined some place markers to refer to in the
future. Before exiting the file I was working with, I was able to view the
place markers I defined. I existed the file and accessed it after some
days to discover that the place markers I defined previously disappeared
completely. Is this natural in word documents or this feature is
specifically designed for KeyWord files? If this feature is designed
exclusively for KeyWord files, while did it accept to define place marking
while working with the file then erased them all after exiting? Any
expected replies would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,
Badih Zeinoun
