Hi!

I hope there are more gains than losses. I haven't tried embossing yet,
but I might. I thought about the person who talked about every other
page being skipped. I saw a section in the BN index about two-sided
embossers and I think single-sided embossers. In any case, no matter the
titles, it's covered in the user's guide. I know some don't like
reading and studying, but if one is to master the BN to meet their
needs, some concentrated studying must be done.

Rhonda, I know you know all this, but it's just comments.

Had a little trouble with the planner, moving a block to the clipboard,
and then seeing no results. I tried it yesterday in a document, and it
worked fine. Sometimes keeping the cursor off the display is a bit of a
problem, but the cursor is wonderful when it comes to editing.

Well, take care!

Subject: [Braillenote] Embossing

Dear Terri and List:

I believe there is much more that goes on with an issue like
this. For months and months I have seen what suggestions have
been put on this list. I have seen the majority of users demand
FM radio and games. Now, we have it, and people are demanding
even more of them. They want better streaming, better games. I
didn't really care about either of those, because I need the
ability to do writing. However, I also understand majority rules
in these things, <grin>.

You stated that you could emboss with 6.2. If Humanware is at
fault, the fault I see is that they should have said, "Now, if
you upgrade to 7.0, you may not be able to emboss or print." I
don't believe Humanware knew you couldn't, because it seems that
some machines can do it. I don't know what the answer is. It
may be to let those who want to be able to go back to 6.2 and be
refunded for their 7.0 purchase. As you can tell, I'm just
throwing ideas around.

You said, "Tech support says many of the drivers were changed in
Keysoft 7 and I was advised to buy a Bluetake which would cost me
approximately $120.00 more.

>This is unacceptable. First Humanware decides to do away with
the parallel
>port and their advice is to buy one of those expensive Edgeports.
Then,
>they ruin the drivers so I can't emboss with my infrared to
parallel device
>and they want me to shell out more money to buy the Bluetake." I
don't know that Humanware ruined the Drivers. I remember having
all these discussions before the mPower came out. I wish we had
all known exactly what to expect, but we didn't.

Since we're talking about this, and it may be a good discussion
to have, I'm not sure how much more the classic can be upgraded.
It seems like the 7.0 was a little to stressful for the classic.

I think we all need to ask questions. What will we lose with a
particular upgrade; what will we gain?
