Hi Rusty:
Yes, I do have cingular... now, how do I put a star in the phone number
field? And, will this allow me to connect up to my ev1 dial up account?
Thanks so much for your help.
Desiree

Hi Desiree,
What cell phone service are you using? If you are using Cingular, you cannot
use a conventional dialup number with your mPower unless you subscribe to a
special service they offer. It costs $3.99 for simply calling your dialup
number.

You can connect to your gprs service so you can check email more quickly.

In your "phone number" field put *99#
In the user name put cingular
In password use cingular.
Don't worry about wait for dialtone ETC.

Try that out and let us know what happens.

Rusty

Subject: [Braillenote] The horse is beaten, but not dead!

Hi all:
Ok, I know we have talked this one to death, and I have really appreciated
all of your help. I am still working on getting my bn to connect to my
phone. I have done everything as instructed, I get as far as the cell
asking me if I accept the connection to my mpower, I say yes, then the bn
says dialing, I wait awhile, my cell makes some little beaps, and my bn
displays "no carrier." I have set the wait for dialtone in the connections
options to no. I tried actually calling the phone number I used and it does
sound like a dialup number. I'm about to try a few others I have, but it
may not matter, maybe I'm doing something else wrong? Thanks for your help
and patience with this. I'm getting ready to possibly really need this to
work, if I'm away from home next week with no access to wireless.
Desiree
