Hello List,

While searching the BrailleNote list archives, I ran across some things which
have prompted me to make a couple of suggestions for minor list modifications.
I don't know how practical or necessary these suggestions are, however, they
were based on my experiences viewing the list archives and I don't know if
others on this list have run across the same problems. While searching through
the messages, I became well aware that the subject line of each was headed with
the [Braillenote] tag. While this tag can be helpful in determining from whom
these messages originate while receiving them via e-mail, I have found it to be
somewhat of a nuisance to listen to this tag being repeated multiple times in a
row with a screenreader, especially while trying to skip through messages as
quickly as possible. Would it be possible for these tags to be automatically
removed from the archives in the future, and if so, would this be practical? I
have noticed that the "re" which heads all replies, has automatically been
removed and am unsure whether it would be possible to remove the [Braillenote]
tags as well. My next and somewhat smaller suggestion, which goes along the
same lines as my previous one, may prompt some of you to wrinkle your noses at
the grammarian in me. *smile* I have noticed that the BrailleNote tag reads
[Braillenote]. Considering that screenreaders often mispronounce this tag,
along with the fact that it does not reflect the capitalization of our beloved
notetaker's name, I am curious whether it would be possible for the "n" to be
capitalized so that the tag reads [BrailleNote] instead of what sounds to many
screenreader users as something similar to [braille en nut] without modifying
the pronunciation in the pronunciation dictionary. As I have previously said, I
know that these suggestions are very nitpicky and could understand if they are
not worth taking the time to implement, however, i still thought I would bring
them to the attention of whoever is now managing the list. Thanks for reading!
