Hi Raymond,
I have never used a classic QT model but I currently own an mPower QT. There
have been many occasions where I would have appreciated to have the ability
to scroll rapidly through lists or documents without having to repeatedly
press the space bar or arrow keys. This is one feature which my PC has that
I would like the mPower to utilize in the future. I also agree that this
feature should be an option which users can trigger on or off. I have not
yet made a suggestion for the implementation of this feature, however, I
have wished for it on many occasions, especially when scrolling through
lists of documents and e-mail.

Subject: [Braillenote] Rapid Braille Display Movement
Dear Listers:
I sent an email directly to Jonathan and I have not heard from him as of
yet. He I know is a very busy man but I wanted to ask you a question.
All of you who have a BrailleNote Classic QT; Did you know, that if you
hold the spacebar down when in a directory or if you hold down an arrow
key while in an address list, the display would move rapidly forward or
backwards? If not and you have KeySoft 5.1 or 6.2, try it. Now, all who
have the MPOWER QT only: does this work in KeySoft 6.2? I am here to tell
you, in KeySoft 7, it does not work any longer. I personally liked the
feature. When I contacted technical support, they told me, "it is a fixed
bug!" This is one bug, I am not happy about having fixed. I loved being
able to rapidly scroll through directories and address/database lists.
Does any one else feel this way? It makes not difference if you use the
rapid movement or exercise your display so, to me, why not have the
feature available. I for example use the rapid movement when looking for
a particular book in the bible. I open the directory, and then holding
down the spacebar, the display rapidly moves down the directory. Now, I
have to press the spacebar over and over again, this I believe is harder
on the machine, because you have to repeatedly press a key.
Sorry for rambling, I just wanted to see what any one else thought and
also get some feedback. I would be thrilled, if they would even have a
way to turn the feature on and off. Some persons may not wan the display
to rapidly advance others might. Thanks for letting me prattle.
Raymond Bishop
