Hi Jim:
I wonder if it makes a difference there about authentication.
Are you using Qwest? I know that some things change, depending
on where you are. Also, I wonder if the pop and smtp servers
change in different locations. I ask this, because Earthlink,
for example uses smtpauth.earthlink.net in some areas, yet in
others, it is just smtp.earthlink.net. It may be worth checking
in to.

Subject: [Braillenote] Getting error message when attempting to
receiveEmail
Hello all,
I need your help and ideas.
My wife is at Guidedog Foundation. She would like to receive her
Email there. They have a wireless network which her M-power can
see with a minus 60 signal strength. She can get some web pages
but if she tries to get an audio stream, she hears a "cannot find
server message". When she tries to get her Email, she encounters
a 10050 or 10051 error message. I had her do a 4 5 6 reset, then
she tried again with no results other than what I mentioned
above. I thought maybe the signal was too weak but she seems to
think the signal is bad no matter where she is in the building.
I also had her recreate the configuration. There might be some
login sequence I'm not aware of fully. Some have tried to insist
she get some kind of plug in Ethernet card and we all know how
specialized that is with the socket card. Not just any old
Ethernet card will do. Just the same, she is on the network, can
get into some web sites but cannot get her Email. Any other
ideas out there? Perhaps somebody on here is familiar with the
GDF network. If so, please feel free to write me privately.
Thanks much!
Jim Aldrich
