Hi Ann, actually it isn't even necessary to get into directory
mode if you
want to move through subfolders. All one has to do while in
folder mode is
to press space to find a folder in the usual folder list. If you
want to
see if that folder has subfolders, press space with dots 5-6. If
subfolders exist, you will be able to press the space bar to move
through
them. Pressing space with dots 5-6 again will take you to
subfolders of
the subfolders if there are any, etc. Pressing space with dots
2-3 moves
you back up through the tree again.

[Braillenote] directories and folders
Hi all,
I just got a desperate call from a friend whose got to find a
book on
a flashcard she knows is there. Here's the deal.
First, she's been reading book1 and it's in a subdirectory on her
flashcard. She wants to read book2 which is in the "none"
folder.
She can't get to it because the BrailleNote has been set into
directory mode with the space-t command. She needs to go back to
"folders" so she can get this file she needs for work, book2. Is
there an easy way to switch from directory mode to folder mode?
<sigh> This is one of the things that makes using the file
system on
the BN so blasted difficult! I had to futz around for a good
half
hour just yesterday cuz I had the same problem! What *should*
happen
is that one should be allowed to use directory mode to see *all*
the
files and folders and subfolders on a given drive. One shouldn't
have
to switch back and forth like a yoyo! One ought to be able to
set
one's mode to suit oneself and keep it there. Novices should be
placed in folder mode, that's fine! But when you've got a power
user
who's got to get a book for work and can't because she can't
switch
conveniently between directory and folder mode, or to put the
blasted
BN into one or the other for good, then what's a body to do?
I told her to write a slash when it asks for the directory, but
it
keeps putting her back to book1 not giving her the opportunity to
go
to the "none" folder.
