Hi Tomand list,

I think these error codes are universal with the windows operating system. If you are sending Email with Outlook Express, that program will interpret the error message as to what the problem is. I have run into the server doesn't recognize the Email address I'm sending a message to. I need to try again a couple more times before it is sent. The BN doesn't interpret the error messages thus we simply hear error 10050 or 10051 whichever it is. This is a windows thing, not something that is unique to the BN family of products. I was talking with a computer support person at a hotel recently. I was discussing my problem with connecting to the wireless network at that hotel. I mentioned the error messages I was getting and he knew exactly what I was talking about from his experience with these error messages. This is why I'm convinced it is a windows thing rather than something to do with the BN itself and this explains why they aren't in the manual or an appendix since these are windows error messages and apparently there are a bunch of them! I could be wrong but I'm convinced this is the case.

Hi,
Brian writes:>
People on the list have made references to errors 1050 and 1051
and other error numbers from their Classic or Mpower.

I've looked around in the User Guide and it doesn't seem to
provide a listing of the various error numbers and their meanings
and likely causes.

I realize most Mpower users are not particularly technically
inclined, but when someone runs into a problem, knowing what the
error code is trying to tell them and why can really help their
local tech support, LAN administrator etc.

Do you think such information could be included in a future
release of the User Guides?

I think that's a great idea. It seems to me that assembling a list of those codes and their meanings, then adding that to the documentation as a separate appendix just as you do with, say, the Computer Braille Codes, would go a long way toward helping people understanding the nature and precise causes of some problems that they're experiencing.

Just my $0.02.

Tom
