I totally agree, and suggest updates to not only the printer compatibility, but that of USB storage devices as well. The BNMP is marketed on its use of USB, allowing you to use a range of devices, including USB printers, keyboards, flash storage, hard drives, CD-ROM drives, and more. What they neglect to say is that only a relatively small percentage of devices actually work. For instance, Lexar devices do not work at all, even a simple thumb drive. I would love to see the whole USB device driver list updated to work with most, if not all, commercial devices, instead of those off a rather short list.

Subject: [Braillenote] USB Printer

Dear List,
Since we are again on the topic of putting our request in for the
next upgrade, I thought I would also toss my suggestion into the
pile. I would like to see an improvement in the USB printer's
driver. I would like to see more compatibility and not having to
go out there and purchasing a new printer because the mPower does
not have the proper driver. We already have purchase the mPower
which is $6200, we also have to purchase cards for storage and
internet which comes up to around $200, and if one wants a GPS
that is another $1400, and if we take into account SMA's which
comes out to roughly $500 for the GPS and the BrailleNote. Now,
if you were to do the math, you would get about $10,000. So, I
wouldn't think it would be too much to ask for more compatibility
in printer drivers, so we won't have to spend more money.
Thank you, and I hope my suggestion will be implemented.
Kevin
