Rhonda,

Thank you for this tip. I was just blown away that you had to add this
extra step but it worked.

Now, how do I fix the manual? I have everything except that the Appendices
folder is empty. Okay, the subindex is empty.

I sure like version 7 very much. This classic unit belongs to my employer.
Before I retire, I will buy an Mpower or whatever is out at the time. I use
this unit a lot, especially for church. I

I used it to teach Sunday school and now, I use it as a student in Sunday
school.

Here is the connectivity; you can see if all of the steps are
here.

When setting up any new account information, do the following:
  1. From the Main Menu, press E, S, D, A. You will see "entry
list of Directory of Email Accounts". Press Enter.
  2. "Account Name" is the first field. Put anything here that
will help you identify it and press Enter.
  3. "User Name" is the next field. Put the first part of your
e-mail address in, up to the "at" part. Press Enter.
  4. "Password" is the next field. If your password includes
numbers, put them in lower case. Press Enter.
  5. "Your name" is the next field, so put that in. Press Enter.
  6. "Your e-mail address" is the next field, and the whole
e-mail address is needed. If there are numbers, lower case
numbers are required. Press Enter.
  7. "pop server" add this entry and press Enter.
  8. "Smtp server" put this in and press Enter.
  9. "Smtp authentication required"? This is set to "no" but
most ISP's require them. Press Y for yes and press Enter.
  10. Press dot 2-6 chord to add the record.

(Connectivity Side)
  1. From the Main Menu, press Option, C, C.
  2. "Entry list for connection configurations" is the first
field seen. Press Enter.
  3. "Connection configuration name" is next, so write in
whatever you'll remember. You can name it "dial up" or "DSL",
since this is the type of connection. Press Enter.
  4. "Device to use" is next. If you are using dial up, you can
just press Enter. However, if it is an ethernet card, press dots
3-4 chord until you see "ethernet network connection". You can
press Enter here.

5. If you are using dial up, add your phone number here and
press Enter.
  6. If you are using dial up, you will be asked for your
"service user name". Once again, add this information.
  7. "Password is next, if you have dial up.
  8. "Software compression" is next, and is normally set to
"yes."
  9. "Use IP header compression"? This is usually set to "yes".
  10. "Log onto network"? This is usually "no", unless you are
using it in conjunction with your PC.
  11. "Wait for dial tone"? Generally, this is set to yes, but
it is up to you.
  12. "Additional modem configurations"? You should just be able
to press Enter.
  13. "Obtain an IP address automatically"? This is generally
"yes", though your setting is "no". If that is the setting, just
press Y and press ENTER.
  14. Generally, you can press dot 2-6 Chord to add the record,
unless you are required to use a "proxy server", or a "DNS
address."
