Brian, Yes, my question is answered.

Well, I guess all of us who use BNs will have to contact NLS and let them
know we don't want the web braille service to be dropped. I can hardly
believe they would actually drop it since they are working on a digital
service for talking books. I thought we would eventually be able to
download these books from the web, too.

Subject: RE: [BrailleNote] reading books

: Ottawa Canada
:
: Here in Canada we have Visu Text, a web-based electronic text
: service of the CNIB Library For The Blind.
:
: I believe it has quite a number of newspapers as well as books,
: but I'm not sure if the newspapers say include the stock and bond
: prices as this information may not convert well into electronic
: form.
:
: Web Braille was only available to U.S. blind people who were
: registered NLS users, and Visu Text is only available to Canadian
: blind people who are users of the CNIB Library For The Blind.
:
: There seems a definite trend toward making newer library products
: restricted to just the home country's blind people.
:
: We can order hardcopy Braille and talking books either on DAISY
: format CD or until the end of March 2007 on four track cassette
: from CNIB as well.
:
: Hope this answers your question.
