There are many of these.    I believe that there is a list somewhere.
Lemme see if I can find it.  Yes, I have found it and will send it
under separate cover.  Now, it's listed as 2003, so there may be
additional sources which I'm not aware of.

That depends on the book, on which kind you buy from the stores,
whether your PC has the right reading software, and so on and on.  Any
of the proprietary books that require a special reader to read them
wouldn't be a safe bet because you would have to convert the book to
txt and yada, yada, yada. 

However, the books from the Samizdat store are very good, and are all
txt files except for some HTML stuff.  Richard Seltzer sells books on
CD and DVD in his store.  He will put books
on CF or SD cards if you send him your card and $29.00.  You can get a
considerable amount of books onto a card.  You either send him email
or you call him and tell him what books to put on your card.    I've
got five thousand books here which I purchased from his place.  Now,
most of these are public domain books, so they're older titles, but
shoot, I have all the classics I could possibly want, and all on five
CD's.  I can hold them in the palm of my hand!  It's astonishing!
