I too have experienced initial difficulty with the driving of printers and embossers with my Mpower. I run 2 printers and 2 embossers, one being a Mountbatten Brailler. The only input they all had in common was a parallel port. Thus I first tried bluetooth to parallel conversion. This I found so unreliable, and so long-winded, that I decided it wasn't for my situation. I next decided to go for a serial-parallel conversion system. Now I had in my box of discarded equipment, an old Eureka serial-parallel converter. This successfully drove my embossers, but wouldn't drive my modern printers. Here in the UK, Lindy of www.lindy.com sell a serial-parallel converter which successfully drove my printers, but not my embossers. So I have now a switch-box system which connects the output of the Mpower to the desired converter, and a second box which selects the required piece of equipment. Techno-vision of Northampton still have a few of these ancient converters in stock, while Lindy can be reached on UK telephone number: 01642-754000. Finally, the Lindy converter has a centronics plug on one end which will plug directly into the usual parallel port of a printer, when available; at the other end of the converter is a built-in large type serial-female socket. If I can be of any further assistance, please contact me privately, and I'll do my best.
Don Cooper.
