It is a few keystrokes, rather than just one, but if you go to the Email action 
menu from within any folder, press a for all, then control with 8, all your 
messages will go to the trash folder.

You know Ronda, you're right!  I forgot all about marking the emails and then 
sending them to the trash folder.  So, I guess that's the only way one can 
delete lots of messages at once?  See, I have a folder called mailin in my list 
of folders, and I just thought there might be a key stroke that I could use to 
get rid of all the messages in that folder at one time.  However, it appears 
that marking them and then sending the selected messages to the trash folder is 
the way to do it.  Thanks as always; I appreciate your help.  Isaih
