Joseph,

Thank you for 2 messages (one past and one recent). Both are not successful.

First thing, we talked about CD disk. No, I was not talk about CD problems.
I talked about Why did not HW send a copy of KeySoft 7.0 but only on CF
card. I need CD Disk for my PC. I also not understand why HW did not put the
files of .pda and .txt, like manual.pda or manual.txt. so I could read PDA
on the PC then play on PK.

More next message.

Subject: RE: [Braillenote] Why no CD-ROM disk?

Leslie,
This is Joseph. Compact Disc (CD) or Digital Versatle Disc (DVD) uses a
different types of sector. Theoretically, it uses the same sector
technology, the sector count is different. A CD could hold up to 700 MB of
disk space. A DVD can hold up to 4.7 GB or more, depending on the
specificaiton. CD's and DVD's use 2352 bytes for each sector (so it won't be
read properly by BN). A data CD or DVD has 2048 (2K) bytes per sector.
It is possible to copy the contents (except the Audio CD) onto your
computer.
The actual step are as follows:
1. Go to Main Menu, and press C3+C4+dots 1-2-3 (ROM image reset). Keep
holding down dots 1-2-3 until you hear a chime. The KeySoft from ROM will
start.
2. Go to Utilties/Application program. At the run prompt, select Storage
card/none folder. At the file prompt, choose KeySoft upgrade (or whatever is
there) and press enter. The upgrade process will start.
Before you do this, make sure that you have installed the product key. Use
the same stepts as outlined above, this time, select KeySoft 7_0 product key
(number) whre number is the serial number of your PK. After you've installed
the product key, then you can cary out the stepts that has been mentioned.
After the upgrade has finished, the new keySoft will start, and you'll be
placed in the Main Menu. I hope this information may help you.

Subject: [Braillenote] Why no CD-ROM disk?

You might remember that my PK lost a file of User's Guide. I am not surely
if I did press the button on the left side of joystick front of the PK. I
got "not enough space..." sometimes. I know it was not true.

So my agency bought me Upgrade KeySoft 7.0 for me but they are only on the
compactflash card. I checked its files but no files for .pda or .txt files.
Even no User's Guide file.

I am reading "BN PK Instruction" that I copied it from Humanware's website.
It says, "follow Utilities Chapter". How could I read the User's Guide????
No way for me to access.

I can not learn without User's Guide. Instruction is NOT help enough.

I wonder why I did not got CD-ROM disk with the pda or txt files like
KeySoft 6.0?

Help me! I have too many problems that I can not do any better.

Subject: RE: [Braillenote] PK: Bluetooth on PC

Jonathan,

Too complex and not able o understand between PK and PC via Bluetooth port.

My PC is UltraNotebook (smaller than laptop) is Sony Vaio VGN T300. It has
built-in Bluetooth and wifi. Both PK and PC are on COM6.

I am trying to use Braille Terminal Mode. In the future I will try next one
is Visual Display and wireless via the Bluetooth.

Question: Do I must make each COMxx for each device? Could I use only one
COM6 for any device?

PC shows "incoming" but I could choice "outgoing". Which one?

I use the steps from BrailleSense instruction via the Bluetooth.

NOTE: I still not have a file of PK User's Guide on either PK and PC. I
just lost the file but I will need to re-install it but I am very limit to
read the text with a few sentence at a time.

I have the agents but they are not know that much of PK because they know
PacMate.

I hope you or other give me FULL steps on both PK and PC.

Hello Leslie, it is nice to see you back on the list.

It sounds to me like you have successfully paired your BrailleNote PK with
your PC. There is no special name you have to give the BrailleNote PK for PC
use, the same name works irrespective of the device.

You do need to be sure that a com port service is set up on your PC, and
that the screen reader you use is told that this is the port it should use
for the Braille display. Unfortunately, how you do this varies a bit
depending on the Bluetooth software you are using and the screen reader
software. So if you can give us more information about those things, perhaps
people on the list can assist you further.

[Braillenote] PK: Bluetooth on PC

I am trying to use the PK as Braille Terminal Mode with PC via the
Bluetooth. They are paired but still not work. I guess I gave I did not
make
the name for PC. How could I find PC if it has the name for the
Bluetooth?

NOTE: PK found "lesliepeterson" but I think it is not name for PC but it
might be name for the email or ISP.

I need your help how could I find the name for the PC. So I will try them
once again.
