Hello sarah and List,

Sarah, you have been missed! I hope you are feeling better now.

Actually, it ws my friend Mike May who recommended the Kingston 5-GB drive. However, that was before the M-Power. As soon as I get the Western Digital Passport 80-GB external drive, I'll try to get all my files off the Kingston. (I'll see if one of my friends with a BN CLassic can useit when I go to the AADB COnference.)

Take care and thank you for your help.

Hugs,

KC

P.s. My M-Poweri s in the shop and this is not someting I can work with to correct or even read messages. Pleae excuse errors. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sarah Cranston" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Hi KC,

I have nothing against Kingston and have heard that it's a good brand. However, I stick strictly to Sandisk, and haven't been at all sorry. They can cost a few dollars more, but they come with lifetime warranties, and they just don't break or wear out like some other brands I've dealt with.

BTW, I'll get back to you soon regarding your off-list queries, I've been down with a nasty virus, so I've been ignoring everyone. [Smile]

Take care,

Sarah

Jonathan,

What puzzles meis tht the files I want to transfer are going through . Is
this endangering my M-Power?

(I just purchased the Western Digital Passport 80GB external drive. what
I'll do is try to moge files from the Kingston to the dirve.) Ironicaly,
Mike May suggested Kingston when I was uing the GPS. We kep the maps on
it.

So, what kind of Kingston card would I need to buy, or should I just try
for a Sandisk card?

KC

Hi KC, if the 5 GB card you have is a microdrive, then I suspect the issue
is that it is a five volt card which the BrailleNote mPower does not
officially support. Earlier versions of the BrailleNote did support these
cards, which is why you would probably not have had issues with it on a
Classic. With the increased power requirements of the new processor, it's
more difficult to support these older cards.
