Ottawa Canada Dear Sherry:
I think you clearly expressed yourself in your message. The Ethernet adapter card and cable only work with an Ethernet connection. While many hotels have Ethernet in guest rooms, if your friends have high speed DSL or high speed cable Internet, you can also use your Ethernet card and cable with their router if it has a port that is not being used. You would want an Ethernet cable, available in lengths of 7, 14, 25, 50 and 100 feet to connect your friend's router to your Mpower. You can buy such a cable at the local computer store or Radio Shack. Ask your friends if they have high speed Internet and a spare jack on their router. Far as what length of Ethernet cable to get, take a guess at say a 14, 25 or 50 footer. If you buy a 100 foot cable, you will probably spend half your life untangling it.
